Pond finish second place at the Green Challenge final in Amsterdam

Pond biomaterials has been awarded second place in the world’s largest sustainability competition, in the 11th edition of the Lottery Postcode Green Challenge. 516 startups applied this year and from here 25 were selected, before the top five finalists were invited to pitch live on stage in Amsterdam.

This years winner is EarthEnable from Rwanda, who provide an alternative to dirt floors, in the form of sustainable, clean, waterproof earthen flooring. Congratulations for the achievement and winning 500.000 euros to better the lives of poor people in Africa.

Pond Biomaterials won 200.000 euros as the runner-up prize. This money will be used to further accelerate our go to market strategy by opening a production facility.

The runners up prices of 100.000 euros goes to Glowee from France, Lightyear from Holland and African Renewable Energy Distributor also from Rwanda. We look forward to follow the development of all these interesting projects.
